Admission

ACI programmes are targeted at the following:

  • School leavers and new entrants into the F&B services industry 
  • For working professionals in the Food & Beverage services industry who wish to upgrade their skills and knowledge to obtain a certificate 
  • Individuals who wish to change their career and enter the Food & Beverage services industry

All applicants are required to submit an online application for all courses except for *WSQ Diploma in Food Services (Culinary Arts & Pastry/Baking) - Train and Place (TnP) Scheme.
*For TnP application, applicants are required to attend one of our Program Preview Session. Please select session from 'Apply Now' in our online course write up.

For Singaporeans/PR - Please submit IC (front and back) or valid copy of Passport For foreigners - Please submit valid Work Permit FIN pass (front and back) or valid copy of Passport For those applying for enhanced course fee subsidy under the Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme - Valid copy of the year of WTS Notification Letter or recent payslip dated from course commencement date not more than 3 months. In order to qualify, earned salary should be less than $2000 per month (To check your eligibility for WTS Scheme please refer to: https://www.workfare.gov.sg/Pages/Home.aspx)

The Asian Culinary Institute (ACI) of Singapore is a CET (Continuing Education & Training) Institute of Nanyang Polytechnic. It is the first Anchor Provider set up in April 2015 as a partnership between the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP). ACI aims to:

  • Build a pipeline of local chefs for Asian cuisines
  • Strengthen continual professional development for existing workers
    Facilitate innovation and productivity enhancement through R&D ACI is located at 11 Eunos Road 8, #03-01 Lifelong Learning Institute, Singapore 408601. Please use Lift Lobby A to reach our office.

ACI offers the following programmes and services

  • WSQ Full certification and modular certification training programmes in culinary arts
  • Short customised and public training programmes in culinary arts, service excellence, teambuilding and supervisory programmes 
  • Seminars/masterclasses 
  • Consultancy services for employers in the food & beverage services sector 
  • Applied Research and Development services for employers in the food & beverage services sector 
  • Placement services for Singaporeans/Singapore Permanent residents into the food & beverage services sector

All courses are conducted by ACI which is located at Lifelong Learning Institute.

A class confirmation email will be sent to you once the class is confirmed, a week prior to class start date. Please contact us if you do not receive the email.

Have you lost or found something? Just proceed to Asian Culinary Institute (ACI) Reception to handover the found item or report your lost item. Found item Items handed over to ACI Reception for safekeeping will be registered. Uncollected item(s) will be donated or disposed. To claim item(s), the owner needs to produce his/her identification document and show proof of ownership or answer a few questions for verification purpose. For hygiene reasons, we would not be accepting the following items: -

  • Used apparels such as hats, gloves, shorts, pants etc. 
  • Used shoe bag and footwear 
  • Disposable food and drink containers 

We will dispose uncollected items as following: -

  • Valuable items – after 3 months 
  • Non-valuable items – after 1 months 
  • Perishable items – after 24 hours Lost item 

You may report a lost item at ACI Reception, please provide us with the following information: -

  1. Your name and contact number 
  2. Date, time and possible place where item was lost 
  3. Description of item(s) 

We will contact you if your item is found.

SSG issues electronic certificates to WSQ trainees who have successfully completed their training. Trainees assessed as competent will receive notification via email or SMS from SSG to view and download their e-Certs via SingPass at https://www.skillsfuture.sg/

MCES is only applicable for self-sponsored individuals, Singaporean aged 40 and above will enjoy up to 90% course fee subsidy for SSG-funded courses. Terms and conditions apply.

Trainees are required to purchase a starter kit which includes the uniform, safety boots and baking tools for the following WSQ Full Qualification courses.

- Starter Kit for Pastry/Baking course at $165.00 by cash

- Starter Kit for Culinary course at $160.00 by cash

- Uniform for Part-Time trainee (1 Set) at $83.50 by cash

- Uniform for Full-Time trainee (2 Sets) at $167.00 by cash

- Safety Boots (1 Pair) at $32.00 by cash

Payment Method

Payment for company sponsored applications:

  • GIRO and Cheque payment Cheque payable to “Nanyang Polytechnic” with your name, NRIC and name of organisation written behind the cheque.

Payment for self-sponsored applications:

  • NETS at our counter, AXS or SkillsFuture Credits 
  • Payment have to be made before the course commencement date. 
  • Registration confirmation will be sent via email after payment verification. 
  • Admission fee of $50 for full qualification programme is non-refundable. 
  • Note: We do not accept credit card payment and cash payments for course fees.

All Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening credit of S$500 from January 2016. You may utilise your SkillsFuture Credits to offset the course fee payable after subsidy/funding. We will provide a 'Payment Advice Letter' for you to submit in the SkillsFuture website: https://www.skillsfuture.sg/Credit to claim for course fee.

For WSQ & Non-WSQ Short courses:
Withdrawal notification received at least 14 calendar days before course commencement
=> 75% refund of paid fees Withdrawal notification received less than 14 calendar days from the course commencement
=> No refund of paid fees Withdrawal notification received upon course commencement
=> No refund of paid fees

For WSQ Full Qualification Programme:
Withdrawal notification received at least 14 calendar days before course commencement
=> 100% refund of paid fees, no refund of admission fee Withdrawal notification received less than 14 calendar days from the course commencement
=> 50% refund of paid fees, no refund of admission fee Withdrawal notification received upon course commencement
=> No refund of paid fees
